Inverter

An inverter is a crucial component in systems like solar power setups or battery backup systems. It takes the direct current (DC) electricity stored in batteries or generated by solar panels and converts it into alternating current (AC), which is the standard form of electricity used by most household appliances and electrical grids.

Inverters come in different types, such as:

  • Pure sine wave inverters - These produce a smooth and consistent AC waveform, suitable for sensitive electronics.
  • Modified sine wave inverters - These produce a stepped approximation of AC and are often less expensive but may not work well with all devices.
  • Grid-tie inverters - These synchronize with the utility grid to feed excess energy back into it.
